This magnetic tape is a composite of powdered magnetic hard rare earth alloy Sm2Fe17N3 and a flexible polymer.

The Sm2Fe17N3 material has high magnetic characteristics, close to those of neodymium magnets Nd2Fe14B. One of the advantages over neodymium magnets is the higher Curie point (450⁰С), hence the higher (over 250⁰С) operating temperature.

At the same time, the materials and technology for producing Sm2Fe17N3 are cheaper and more accessible.

This makes Sm2Fe17N3 very promising for use in engines, generators and devices operating at elevated temperatures.

SmFeN tape is particularly suitable in cases where ferrite magnetic tape cannot provide sufficient adhesion strength for heavier frames and sealing covers, vertical mounting on smooth surfaces, etc.
